The 40th annual Taste of Buffalo, presented by Tops, will feature more than 40 restaurants, food trucks, craft breweries, New York State wineries, and more, coming together to celebrate Buffalo’s food scene. It will be held July 8 and 9 on Delaware Avenue in downtown Buffalo.

The list of restaurants includes a mix of classic American and ethnic cuisines that represents the diverse food culture for which Western New York is known. Ten restaurants will be participating in the Taste of Buffalo for the first time, including new meatless and gluten-free options.

“For 40 years, the Taste has been bringing the community together to celebrate our diverse foods and the city we love,” said 2023 chairperson Elizabeth Mamot. “This year is no exception as the menu includes a variety of Buffalo’s food favorites coupled with an eclectic mix of international, gluten free and vegetarian offerings, and of course, birthday cake! This is Western New York’s official invite to join us for plenty of 40th birthday fun.”

Genesee Brewery, Coca-Cola, The Tipsy Trailer, and Sad Boys Brewing round out the beverage options for this year’s Taste.

“Genesee has a lot of history in Buffalo and, as a presenting sponsor of Taste of Buffalo, there’s a huge opportunity for new Buffalonians to discover our beers,” Genesee brewery says. “Anticipation and excitement is extremely high for this event!”

From Genesee, Taste of Buffalo festival goers can look forward to an exclusive beer brewed for the event, Genesee Brew House IPA, which was made by Genesee Brew House Brewmaster Dean Jones exclusively for the Taste of Buffalo, Ruby Red Kolsch and Tropical Pineapple Kolsch, and Seagram’s Escapes Signature Cocktails.

“We’re excited to bring along the brand new Seagram’s Escapes Signature Cocktails to the Taste of Buffalo!” Genesee adds. “Made at the Genesee Brewery, Seagram’s Escapes Signature Cocktails are 13%, ready to drink cocktails in a can.”

Sad Boys will be bringing along their Jomama’s Honey Boo-Boo, a lightly hopped light beer with blueberry and honey, Summer Bummin,’ a summer shandy, and Sad Boys Seltzer: Cherry Lime.

“Sad Boys is extremely excited to be welcomed to the Taste of Buffalo this year,” Sad Boys Brewing says. “To say that the Buffalo beer community, and Buffalo community as a whole, has been welcoming would be an understatement. We are extremely honored to feel a part of such an amazing grouping of individuals and the Taste of Buffalo exemplifies that. To the Taste of Buffalo all we can say is thank you for including us, it means the world and we look forward to attending!”

“This year we will celebrate 40 years of The Taste of Buffalo,” Mayor Byron W. Brown stated. “That’s forty years of one of Buffalo and Western New York’s largest and most popular summer events. Forty years of welcoming some of the best restaurants and beverage makers to downtown Buffalo. And, forty years of adjustments and creativity, especially in recent years as the Taste adapted to the COVID pandemic and other challenges. I thank Taste of Buffalo organizers, past and present, Taste sponsors, as well as John Persons and the Tops team, for all their hard work over the years as we look forward to another great festival in 2023, and many more in the decades to come.”
