A new Dry Hopped Cream Ale will hit stores in mid-August, offering a smooth and modern hop aroma with a crisp clean finish like the Original.

Perfectly balanced, Dry Hopped Cream Ale clocks in at 4.5 percent ABV and contains 8 percent IBUs for a subtle yet refreshing hop taste. Available in 12-packs of 12-ounce cans, this new beer is part of Genesee Specialty, a more premium line of beers under the Genesee label.

“Our goal was to build off of Cream Ale’s popularity and nostalgia while giving drinkers a new and refreshing take on the classic beer,” said Corey Berger, Associate Brand Manager, Genesee. “For decades, Genesee has been known for our original Cream Ale. This dry hopped version is another opportunity to give fans an entirely new taste within the delicious style they know and love.”

About the Original Cream Ale

Over the past few years, Genesee has experimented with Cream Ales and brewed popular limited release versions including Orange Honey, Lemon Strawberry, Cinnamon, Imperial and most recently, Black Raspberry, which sold out in four minutes.

Cream Ale was one of the first beer styles created in America, and Genesee has been the style standard since the brewery first made it in 1960. Genesee Cream Ale paved the way for an entirely new smooth and flavorful beer that continues to grow in popularity today. The Original Cream Ale has won numerous awards including 10 Great American Beer Festival medals, three World Beer Cup medals and a silver at the International Beer Festival.

About the Genesee Brewing Company

Established in 1878, the Genesee Brewery—New York state’s oldest brewery—makes the classic Genesee line of beers and the Original Honey Brown Lager, as well as Seagram’s Escapes. The Genesee Brewery also manufactures beer and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages under contracts on behalf of other companies.
