Big Ditch Releases Hayburner in 12-Packs, Cannon Call in 6-Packs

Buffalo’s most beloved beer, Big Ditch Brewing’s Hayburner IPA, is now available in 12oz. can 12-packs, thanks in large part due to the opening of their new production facility. You can find the newly minted 12-packs at the taproom or wherever great beer is sold locally. Big Ditch’s Cannon Call Double New England IPA is also now available 12oz. 6-pack cans. Cannon Call is brewed with Mosaic, Nelson Sauvin, Idaho 7 and Simcoe hops for notes of tropical fruit, white grape and orange zest. Both are also available to ship by clicking here.

Thin Man’s Pills Mafia Also Now Available in 12-Packs

And while we’re talking about staple Buffalo beers, Thin Man Brewery’s Bills-themed lager, Pills Mafia, is now available in 12oz. can 12-packs at both Thin Man taprooms and wherever great craft beer is sold. Perhaps best known as the beer unofficial Bills Mafia spokesman Kyle Brandt shouted out on Twitter, Pills Mafia is a clean, crisp, and easy drinking German-style pilsner. Stock up for the upcoming Bills season right now.

Free Macy’s Place Pizza and Lager Release at Community Beer Works

Starting at 4pm on August 12, Community Beer Works will be receiving multiple pizza deliveries from Macy’s Place Pizza, which they will then make available to you, for free. Pizza will be available while supplies last. And to properly wash all of that great local pie down, CBW is re-releasing Keep Sailing, Bob, a hoppy pilsner with a bright, hoppy aroma and notes of citrus, spice and wildflower. The beer will be available on draft and in 16oz. 4-pack cans to go. And to cap it all off, there will live music from Bryan Williams from 6-9pm.

First Line Brewing Opening Second Location in Hamburg

First Line Brewing and Black Smoke Bourbon Bar have announced plans to open a second location in the Village of Hamburg. 50 Buffalo Street will be the new dedicated home for Black Smoke, and will feature half a dozen tap lines of First Line beer to start, as well as a huge selection of bourbon, craft spirits and special Black Smoke blends. They also plan to launch a new barrel aging program out of the space, which will feature a courtyard with an outdoor bar, gazebo and fire pits as well. They are eying a December opening.

Bee Spit Meadery Opens in Holland

Bee Spit Meadery, located at 7286 Olean Road in Holland, has opened their doors to the public. The new meadery features 36 taps of their own handcrafted mead, as well as other New York craft beer and ciders, bar and table seating, onsite parking and bottles of mead to go. Their first limited bottle release is Dragon Spit, a mead with dragon fruit, prickly pear, blood orange, chai spice and chili peppers. They will also release Blue Balz, a blueberry and lemon session mead, on tap this week. They are currently open Wednesday and Thursday, 2-8pm, and Friday and Saturday, 2-9pm. 12 Gates Brewing to Release Das Boot Oktoberfest

While summer is still far from over, 12 Gates Brewing is thinking fall with the release of Das Boot Oktoberfest on August 12 (12pm). This 5.2% ABV German-style marzen features all German ingredients with a touch of American flair; it’s light, nutty and subtly sweet with notes of bready sweet malt and caramel – it smells and tastes like fall. Das Boot will be available on draft and in 6-packs and full cases to-go. For the release on Friday, singer/songwriter Asalone will provide live music at 8pm.

42 North to Release New Bills-Themed Kolsch in Time for New Season

With the Bills about to kick off their 2022-23 campaign, 42 North Brewing is ready to join the party with the release of Where Else Would You Rather Beer?, a tailgate-ready kolsch, on August 13 at their East Aurora taproom. Where Else Would You Rather Beer?, a light and approachable kolsch that clocks in at 5%, features loyal 42 North Brewing fans on the beer label, which the brewery plans to update during the season to feature additional images of fans. Beginning the week of August 15, “Where Would You Rather Beer?” will be available wherever great craft beer is sold.

Resurgence to Close Niagara Street Taproom, Announces Macy’s Place Collab

Resurgence Brewing have announced that they will be closing their Niagara Street taproom in an effort to “focus on other opportunities.” They will be open for one last week, starting on Wednesday, February 3 (4pm-10pm), Thursday, Feb. 4 (4pm-10pm), Friday, Feb. 5 (4pm-10pm), Saturday, Feb. 6 (12pm-10pm), and Sunday, Feb. 7 (12pm-5pm). Let’s all toast to a space we will never forget.

They are also joining Macy’s Place Pizzeria for a beer and pizza party on January 30. In addition to pizza, they will be releasing Maui Wowie Jalapeño Pineapple Lime Lager, a lager conditioned on lime purée, jalapeños & agave syrup, and Super Sour Diesel Strawberry Kiwi Banana Passionfruit Basil Sour, a heavily fruited sour conditioned on strawberry & banana passionfruit, and transferred through house cooked kiwis & basil leaves for an over the top sour. The lager is available  on draft and crowlers, while the sour is available on draft and in 4-pack cans.

Rusty Nickel to Host Sixth Annual Sausage Fest

Rusty Nickel Brewing’s 6th Annual Sausage Fest returns January 30. The event features specialty drinks, unique sausage samplings, music, cocoa, and friendly competition, and this year, guests can expect creative charcuterie, traditional sausage varieties, and wild game sausages. The competition is free and open to anyone. Sausages are entered in five categories; Breakfast, Venison/ Wild Game, Freeform (non-cased), Best Sausage, and Best in Show. Pressure Drop’s Struggle Bus DIPA Returns

Struggle Bus Double IPA, a collaboration between Pressure Drop Brewing and Brockport’s Stoneyard Brewing, returns on January 30 (12pm). This 8.5% brew features bright citrus and a grapefruit nose, with notes of mango and papaya on the front end with a skunky and dank base. Its medium bodied with balanced bittering that hangs on the palate. Cans will be available during Pressure Drop’s weekend dock sale at the Barrel Factory.

West Shore Brewing Releases Imperial Banana Cream Pie Stout

Is it a Banana Cream Pie Stout with chocolate icing? Or a Chocolate Milkshake Hefeweizen? Clarence’s West Shore Brewing has released Imperial Banana Cream Pie Stout, an 8% beer that features chocolate stout malt, hefeweizen yeast, extra chocolate and a bit of lactose to create creamy banana cream pie notes. Southern Tier Brewing Drops Nu Haze IPA

Southern Tier’s latest hazy creation, Nu Haze IPA, features citrus and ripe melon notes from Idaho 7 and Mosaic hops. This beer features a take on the no boil brewing process, which allows for the hops to create a soft, juicy experience and no time at all generating bitterness. Nu Haze is available at the brewery, and in 6 and 12 pack 12oz. cans wherever great beer is sold.
