Dark Beer Reigns at Big Ditch Brewing’s Stoutsgiving

Celebrate the darker side of beer on Thanksgiving Eve at Big Ditch’s Stoutsgiving on November 27 (11am). In addition to the release of Bourbon Barrel Aged Towpath Imperial Stout (2019) in cans for the first time ($19.99 per 4-pack), this year’s Detour variants are Pumpkin Pie, Raspberry Truffle, Peanut Butter Chocolate and Mexican Chocolate ($8, $30 per 4-pack). There will be casks of Banana Coconut Chocolate Cream Porter and Irish Cream Make Me Wanna Stout. Also available: BBA Towpath (2016, 2017, 2018), non-BBA Towpath (2016), Holiday Porter and cans of Cannon Call DIPA and Deep Cut.

Pressure Drop Break Out the Barrels for Second Anniversary

In honor of their second anniversary, Pressure Drop Brewing are breaking out their cache of big barrel aged beers. On November 29 (6pm), Pressure Drop are opening up the doors to their brewhouse and will be tapping barrels containing their Blacklicious Imperial Stout aged three different ways – in bourbon barrels, rum barrels and whiskey barrels. Tickets are $25 are include a tasting glass, samples of all 3 Blackalicious variants, live music, and food. A cash bar will also be available. The 12 Gates of Christmas Is Back at 12 Gates Brewing

12 Gates are kicking off December with 12 days of beer releases, which they call the 12 Gates of Christmas. Starting December 1, the brewery will release Raspberry Milkshake DIPA, Augustus Gloop Chocolate Porter (Dec. 2), Pumpkin Pie (Dec. 3), Hazelnut Brown (Dec. 4), Mango Habanero Porter (Dec. 5), Southwest 6 IPA (Dec. 6), Hard Gloves Winter Spice Ale (Dec. 7), Blueberry Stout (Dec. 8), Hüell Is In Session Mango-Strawberry Session IPA (Dec. 9), Banana Bread Hefeweizen (Dec. 10), Chocolate Raspberry Sour Stout (Dec. 11) and Grave Concerns Imperial Stout (Dec. 12). Drink them all and win a commemorative t-shirt.

Enjoy the Biggest Party Night of the Year at These Breweries

Spend the biggest party night of the year in true Buffalo fashion – at a brewery! If you don’t yet have plans, you’re in luck because there are a number of breweries that would love to have you! 12 Gates will release Dirty Dangles, a 8.6% Double New England IPA, and a Randall of Danger Zone Imperial Stout Infused with Brandy Soaked Oak Chips, at their fourth annual Philosophest on November 27 (12pm). MJ & The Way (4-7pm) and Tiny Music (8-11pm) will perform. No cover. West Shore are throwing a 90’s Party (5pm), which will include the release of their Christmas Ale and 2 coffee infused beers. There will also be a 90s dress contest. Free. In honor of Thanksgiving Eve, Jamestown Brewing are finally debuting a slate of their own beer, including a pilsner, porter, brown ale, pale ale, and an IPA (8pm). There will also be live music by the Rust Belt Brigade and the Dan White Band. Free.

Flying Bison to Release 2019 Scotch Ale in Crowlers

Flying Bison has chosen their 2019 MacBison Scotch Ale as the first beer they will crowler, which will be available on November 27 (12pm). A limited amount of crowlers will be available to go, and the brewery will be pouring $5 pints (normally served in twelve ounce goblets for $6) inside the tasting room all day. Kegs will also be available to take home. Jamestown Brewing Company Sets Grand Opening Date

After a few delays, Jamestown Brewing will now hold their official grand opening on July 12. “We want to thank you for your patience over the past few months,” the brewery announced recently. “We love our loyal fans and appreciate you sticking around.” The brewpub and restaurant will feature craft beers, helmed by former Gordon Biersch and Woodcock Brothers Head Brewer Matt Redpath, as well as wine and mead paired with farm-to-table food sourced directly from local farmers. 2019 Ballpark Brewers Series Beer Packs Now on Sale

The 2019 Ballpark Brewers Series, which features beers from Community Beer Works, Resurgence Brewing and Big Ditch Brewing, as well as a collaboration between all three, are currently on sale at Consumers Beverages. The packs feature Big Ditch’s Dayburner Session IPA, Resurgence’s The Surge New England IPA, Community Beer Works’ Czech Swing Pilsner and the collab, Short Hop, a hoppy blonde ale. You can also enjoy the Ballpark Brewers Series beers during Buffalo Bisons home games at Sahlen Field beginning on May 28 and in all three taprooms on May 31. The Ballpark Brewers Series was first released in 2015.

Third Annual Kolsch Day at 42 North Brewing

42 North Brewing are celebrating all things kolsch at their 3rd Annual Kolsch Day on June 2 (12-8pm). In honor of the beer style, they will be serving their Westphalia German-style Kölsch in traditional stange glassware, and running tabs for those participating until they are finished. “We’ll give you a punch card, every refill of the Stange glass is a punch,” the brewery says. “Pretend you’re in Cologne and add up your punches at the end to see which one of your friends likes Kolsch them most.” There will also be music by The Auslanders, as well as German-themed food.

Happy Fourth Anniversary to Rusty Nickel Brewing

Rusty Nickel Brewing is celebrating their fourth anniversary on June 1 (12pm). The event will feature plenty of food, all of your favorite Rusty Nickel brews on tap, including four special releases such as Pater’s Up! Patersbier, Haberstroh Mango Hefeweizen and a mystery anniversary beer, cocktails and mixologies, bloody marys, wine, spirits, and hard cider. There will be live music all day long, starting with an open mic session (12-2pm), MYQ F will then take the stage from 2-4pm, followed by Undercover (4:15-5:15pm), Wacko Fest (5:30-8:45pm), Jokuken (9-10:30pm) and finally a Jam Session with Wacko Fest, Jokuken & Friends (10:30-11pm).

Usher in summer at 12 Gates with the Rock the Gates Volume 3, a day of entertainment and special beer releases, on June 1 (11am-11pm).
